for Microsoft SharePoint
In SharePoint, files consume most of the network, storage and processing resources
Each time SharePoint users upload files to SharePoint server libraries using their browser (Microsoft Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox), Z-OptimiZr Client for SharePoint automatically and transparently reduces the size of these files, on the fly, before the files are uploaded to the SharePoint server.
The optimization process is automatic, users have nothing to do.
Among the numerous benefits delivered by Z-OptimiZr Client for SharePoint:
Faster SharePoint servers, faster SharePoint file uploads and downloads, smaller SharePoint file libraries, picture libraries and databases, reduction of SharePoint-related network usage, happy SharePoint users...
Z-OptimiZr Client for SharePoint includes the following volume-reduction features:
Native XML File Optimization
Automatic and transparent on-the-fly native XML volume optimization for MS Office 2007, 2010, 2013 and 2016 XML attached files (DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, VSDX… files) and Open Office XML attached files (ODT, ODP, ODS files) uploaded to SharePoint servers.
The rendering quality of the optimized files is fully preserved.
Since the optimized files remain fully standard XML files (DOCX, PPTX, XLSX etc.), the consumers of the files do not need any specific software to display open or edit the optimized files.

Optional policies are available to resize the largest images to specific dimensions, for instance HD – 1920 x 1080 pixels.
The rendering quality of the optimized files is fully preserved.
Since the optimized files remain fully standard Image files, the consumers of the files do not need any specific software to display, open or edit the optimized files.

Testimonials
When we first evaluated Z-OptimiZr Client for SharePoint we couldn’t believe what we saw:
The MS Office files and Picture files optimized by Z- OptimiZr Client for SharePoint were looking exactly the same as the non-optimized files when displayed at screen, but their size on disk was on average 50% smaller!
Although we had already downloaded some file samples provided on the vendor’s web site (here for the MS Office files and here for the Picture files), experiencing the same range of file size reduction ratios on our own files was even more convincing.
And since the optimized files are still fully standard MS Office files and picture files, the integration with SharePoint (metadata, user interaction) is 100% the same as with the original files.
We had SharePoint performance issues...
…mainly because SharePoint file uploads and downloads were consuming most of our network bandwidth.
We evaluated Z-OptimiZr Client for SharePoint and were able to measure it was delivering a reduction of 46% of your SharePoint related network traffic.
Still better, the volume reductions delivered by Z-OptimiZr Client for SharePoint on files uploaded to our SharePoint libraries were persisting in our SharePoint server databases.
Thus the next downloads of these files were also taking benefits of the initial size reduction delivered by Z-OptimiZr at upload time (and the growth rate of our SharePoint Database could be seriously reduced).
And all this with no need for any user education since Z-OptimiZr Client for SharePoint is fully automatic and transparent!
We liked very much Z-OptimiZr Client for SharePoint but...
…we also needed to reduce the size of our existing SharePoint libraries.
Our SharePoint databases were by far to large and SharePoint was getting slower and slower.
We needed the file size reduction delivered by Z-OptimiZr Client for SharePoint to also be applied to the files already stored into our our existing libraries / databases.
We asked the vendor and they pointed us to Z-OptimiZr for SharePoint Databases that does exactly that, in batch mode!
We thus optimized our SharePoint databases using Z-OptimiZr for SharePoint Databases and recovered several terabytes of disk space on our SharePoint servers.
We then deployed Z-OptimiZr Client for SharePoint to reduce the size of the files before they are even uploaded to our SharePoint Servers.
Faster SharePoint servers, faster SharePoint file uploads and downloads, smaller SharePoint databases, reduction of SharePoint-related network usage, happy SharePoint users (they have nothing to do to take benefits of the performance improvements delivered by Z-OptimiZr Client for SharePoint), we couldn’t have asked for more!
Our MS Exchange messaging team asked us if Z-OptimiZr for SharePoint could do the same optimization job for Microsoft OWA.
We asked the vendor and the answer was Yes!
One GPO parameter update later, all of our 20,000 OWA users started optimizing their OWA attached files automatically. Fantastic!
This is because Z-OptimiZr Client for SharePoint is in fact Z-OptimiZr for Web Browsers licensed to be used with SharePoint.
Z-OptimiZr for Web Browsers can work with virtually any web page enabling the users to select files to be uploaded.
